A rough jostling startled her awake, and she sat up quickly, looking around her with blurry eyes. There was something warm and firm between her legs, and a moment of blinking forced her eyes to focus in on Cade’s thoroughly amused gaze. “Morning, sleepy head.”

Ria blinked a few more times, pushing the remnants of sleep away from her mind as she stared blankly at the dark-eyed demon. “I didn’t watch a movie.”

His honey-smooth chuckle tickled her skin—and other parts—as he reached up and tucked a runaway strand of red hair behind her ear. “We’ll watch one later. Let’s head out. We’ve still got time before the Children, Youth, and Families Protective Services Division closes.” Placing both hands on her hips, he deftly lifted her from his lap before leaning forward to place her feet on the floor. She straightened up slowly, realizing that, although satisfying, sleeping on his lap had left her with more than a few kinks.

Heheh…kinks. He’s making me kinky. Ria snorted out loud at her own silent joke, eliciting an inquisitive look from the man in question. Shaking her head, she made her way to the door of the plane, grabbing her duffle from the flight attendant before shielding her eyes from the afternoon sun as she made her way down the stairs. A slight buzzing noise emanated from the pocket of the sweater she held on her arm, and as Cade moved to take her duffle bag and place it in the black Mercedes waiting on the runway, she pulled her phone out read over the message waiting for her.

Dax: Your mission, should you choose to accept it… 1. Record Cade being forced to listen to Taylor Swift. 2. Find a working phone booth, and use it to call Tallen. His number is in your phone. Bonus points if he actually answers. He never fucking answers. 3. Lead Cade out to the desert and make him think you’re lost. Record his reaction.

Ria smiled before texting her response.

Ria: Challenge accepted. Btw, I like filet mignon with garlic butter sauce and sautéed mushrooms. My favorite vegetables are asparagus and sweet potatoes, mixed with the blood of a blonde reaper.

Chuckling softly, she put her phone away as she mentally began to map out her next moves.
